Original typescript of an open letter written June 10, 1927, by Carl Beck, author of the original lyrics to "On, Wisconsin." He writes to protest a contest sponsored by the addressees to create a new set of lyrics to the song, in the process giving his own account of the song's creation and reminiscences of the composer, W. T. Purdy.
